Having lived in Europe several years of my life, I developed a love for mission and an appreciation for people of varying cultures and backgrounds. I have spent many years traveling abroad, teaching and expanding my knowledge of history and cultures. My passion for women led me into various women’s ministries; speaking, discipling, teaching Bible studies, ministering to the homeless and serving in prison ministry. For a few years, I had the opportunity of serving as Director of Women’s Ministry for a diverse missional church in Fresno, California.
An eager student and life-long learner, I completed my graduate studies at Georgia State University and recently completed certification through Perspectives on the World Christian movement (www.perspectives.org). I am now serving as an instructor for Perspectives, which is a ministry of Frontier Ventures, whose vision is to mobilize the effectiveness of the mission movement across the world. I am also serving in Engagers which exists to mobilize the global church in igniting church planting movements of “unreached” and “unengaged” peoples of the world.
Along with Indestructible Daughters, my ministry with women includes prayer for their children as well. I am, therefore, delighted to currently serve as a country helper for Moms In Prayer International (www.momsinprayer.org), which impacts schools and children worldwide. Earlier this year I was given the wonderful opportunity of serving as a prayer leader for City Without Orphans, CWO, (www.citywithoutorphans.com). CWO is a ministry that labors to find permanent, loving homes for children in need. All of these experiences have better equipped me to meet the needs of women from a variety of cultures.
Teaching is my passion! I love to teach! In 2002 I was blessed to receive national recognition from Coca Cola as an “Educator of Distinction”. Only 50 teachers in the nation are selected annually to receive this honor, which led to special commendation from the governor of the state of California. This was such an incredible experience and very humbling!
As for my family, the true loves of my life are my husband, Bruce, my son Jason, his lovely wife Katie and my two adorable grandchildren, Allyson and Grayson. My family has enriched and blessed my life in ways I can’t even begin to describe!
A final note, I just released my book, Indestructible Daughters, 2019, which I pray will challenge, instruct, and mobilize women, regardless of their circumstances, to arise and go forth in the authority that God has given to them.
Enjoy the journey my friends,
