Pray for the Rohingya: 270,000 flee Myanmar

Another quarter of a million people, the Rohingya (see link below), on the move and added to an already expansive refugee population. There seems to be a shaking across the world in so many areas. How do we as Christians respond?
Please pray:
1) that your hearts will not grow cold to the suffering of people, no matter their nation or people group.
2) that God may use you to make a difference.
3) that God may give you the strength and courage to rise from your comfort zone and branch out in faith and in service to the many lost and hurting people; even in ways you’ve never done before.
5) that you may give generously: financially, physically and prayerfully.
4) that God may soften your heart and give you His love for all people.

According to God’s word… all peoples, all tribes and all nations are
His people (Rev 7:9) Shouldn’t we invariably reflect the character of the one we follow? In His love, shouldn’t our mandate be His mandate?

May we seek you deeper Lord and reflect the character of you in all that we do.
Amen

Abandoned, Abused, Homeless Children- A Word and a Prayer:

 Discarded and abused—but not forgotten

Psalm 27:10

“Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.”

2 Timothy 4: 16 – 17 “At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ”

Countless children across the world have been abandoned because their parents have died, couldn’t afford to feed them, or simply did not want them anymore. These children often experience unimaginable suffering while living on their own. On our recent mission to Ethiopia and Kenya we met missionaries and local volunteers of children’s homes spending their lives to give rescued children an opportunity to know and love Jesus. Serving in an orphanage we saw first-hand babies and young children embraced by loving Christian caretakers. And yet, for many we still evidenced the lingering effects of malnutrition and abuse that had previously ravaged their innocent lives. Wrinkled skin and blackened marks were noticeable on many of their hands and feet. A few had larger heads disproportionate to their small bodies as their malnourished bodies drained nutrients from the hands and feet. The body naturally preserves the head as the last place affected, thus the enlarged heads. We also were able to pray and love on a set of 2-year-old twins who lived in a totally darkened place for 9 months. With no light at all, the mother hid them and rarely fed them. By God’s grace a neighbor lady rescued the twins and they were placed in the orphanage. They still have eye problems and difficulty focusing in light. The twins arrived 3 months prior to our arrival. Inseparable, we quickly noticed them following each other everywhere around the orphanage. One of them would cry while  continuously squinting her eyes as if in pain. After we prayed and laid hands on her, the crying ceased for the rest of the day… Praise the Lord.

Children orphanage 3-4

Hungry and vulnerable, many orphaned and abandoned children have no choice but to beg in busy streets or may eventually become trapped in a life of prostitution. Children left to survive alone on the streets face sickness, sexual and emotional abuse, and severe malnutrition. Across the world about 2 million children are exploited every year in the global commercial sex trade. For the millions of children still on the streets, the dangers of human trafficking, bonded labor, extreme weather and various diseases are all threats they must face daily. For those children who have found safety and placement in children’s homes, there is still a long road of recovery they must travel because of the pain and abuse they have endured.

Children orphanage 4-4

Childrens orphanage 5 Children orphanage 4

Please join me in prayer …

Heavenly Father, please protect the children living on the streets from the harm that could easily befall them. May you miraculously save the many boys and girls trapped in lives of bonded labor, sexual abuse and homelessness. Please bring wholeness and healing to each of these boys and girls whose bodies and hearts have suffered immensely. May they become physically and spiritually strong by Your grace.

Almighty Father, We lift up the children of this world, the ones who live comfortably and the ones who have no roof above their heads. We lift up the children who have never heard of You. And today as we pray, we remember and lift up in Your tender loving hands, the abused and abandoned, living without love, without hope, and without the basic needs of life.

Lord Jesus, we call upon Your blessed name and pray for the children who are abused and suffering from wounds inflicted deep within them, and those led into sin at a young age, not knowing what they are doing. In Your blessed power, release them from these captives and may their hearts be reconciled in Your perfect love and healing.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to open their eyes and hearts to Your love. May they come to know You deeply, and experience Your love wholeheartedly,

We pray in the blessed name of Jesus, Amen!

A Prayer for the 90 + kidnapped Christians of Syria

My heart weeps as I write this today….

The poet William Arthur Ward said:

I will do more than belong…I will participate.

I will do more than care…I will help.

I will do more than believe…I will practice.

I will do more than be fair…I will be kind.

I will do more than forgive…I will forget.

I will do more than dream…I will work.

I will do more than teach…I will inspire.

I will do more than learn…I will enrich.

I will do more than give…I will serve.

I will do more than live…I will grow.

I will do more than suffer…I will triumph.

We can’t do whatever is easiest and still reach our goals. We must do more. We must do “whatever it takes.”

Ah, that we would be people of faith with such passion for the glory of God and His kingdom that we would be compelled by Christ’s love in all diligence. William Arthur Ward’s statements are all tenets of our faith propelling us go beyond all that is expected or asked of us into the miraculous realm of God.

Yesterday more that 90 Assyrian Christian men, women, and children were kidnapped from their Syrian village by militant terrorists. They have been drawn into a horrific situation beyond our imaginations or our understanding. And yet, many of them are already crying out, “ We are Ready to Meet Jesus today.” In spite of the torture, the molestations, the beatings and the beheadings, many of them have already stated that they will not compromise. And most of the parents have trained their children to do the same. In war torn countries, like Syria, parents actually practice daily with their children, repeating the actual words they will say in the event of capture. This is what Christian mothers and fathers have to train their children to do in Syria. While we are teaching our children to ride a bike, tie their shoes and bake a cake, they are teaching their children how to face torture and death. They are ready to go beyond expectations and beyond all earthly demands. They are ready to die for their beliefs. Ready to die for love of Jesus.

What about you? Have you died to self and laid down your life for Jesus. Time is shorter than we believe. Have you made a decision to give your life for Him? Will this be the day you will be asked to give your physical life as well? We don’t know what life holds for each of us, nor the time frame, but we do know that we will all leave this life one day. May we all be prepared to meet Jesus. May we all be captivated by His great love and His demonstration of that great love as He died for us. Beaten, humiliated, tortured and mutilated, He laid down His life for each of us. As much as we try to avoid and deny it, suffering is part of our legacy. It’s engrained in our lineage.

Today let us cry out for the 90 + kidnapped Christians of Syria who face unspeakable tortures and possible martyrdom this day. May they be set free my Lord! May Christians rise up around the world in great prayer, pleading and crying out in unison, to the only real power that can intervene and set them free, Jesus Christ our Lord. And if they be martyred this day,  may they be strengthened beyond all measure. Embrace them my Lord and wrap them in your Spirit that they may find you in the midst of incomparable pain and suffering. May they do more than suffer, let them triumph!

“And they overcame him( Satan)by the blood of The Lamb and by the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives unto death.”(Revelation 12:11)

Prayer Against Terrorism

Prayer Against Terrorism

Dear Heavenly Father, our protector and defender,

Today we are joining your people worldwide in praying against terrorism in every form that it exists across the face of the earth.  We begin our prayer to You with the strong words of Psalm 10:17 “You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.”  (NIV)  We use this strong promise to pray against all terrorists and all acts of terror meant to strike fear into our hearts.

We pray today that your people will not be shaken.  We declare your word in Psalm 16:8  “I have set the Lord always before me.  Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”  (NIV)  And so we shall not be shaken from offering this bold prayer to you against terrorism and for continuing to seek healing, hope and security for all people.

We pray for your divine protection, claiming your word in Psalm 7:9 “O righteous God who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure.”  (NIV)

We pray for those who have been directly affected by terror.  We claim Psalm 9:9 for them, “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.”  (NIV)  We thank you that the victims of terrorism are in your heart, that you care as it says in Psalm 10:14  “But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand.  The victim commits himself to you;” (NIV)

We pray for law enforcement and military around the world who protect your people from acts of terrorism and who are on the front lines of security.  May your angels empower them with supernatural wisdom and discernment and may your angels protect them as they protect us.

We pray a fresh empowering of your Holy Spirit upon us as we offer this prayer.  May we continue to pray with faith, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”  (Matthew 6:10,13)

Empowered by your Holy Spirit, we declare against this terror, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.  You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.  Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”  (Psalm 23:4-6)

We now break the power of fear and invite the Holy Spirit’s power of strength, help, willpower and miraculous wonder working power to have full reign in our hearts and minds and in our hurting, terrified world.

We pray in the name of Jesus, the Risen Lord.

Amen

A Prayer for Indestructible Daughters Across The Globe

A Prayer for Indestructible Daughters Across The Globe:

3. Father may your daughters find comfort in Your ability to reach, hold, and rescue them (2 Samuel 22:17-18).
4. May your daughters please You Lord, by desiring, requesting, and utilizing a discerning heart full of wisdom (1 Kings 3:9-12).
5. May your daughters find confidence in You, Father God. Even when hard times come and they do not know what to do, may they keep their eyes fixed on You(2 Chronicles 20:12).
6. Father give your daughters a great desire to accept Your word and to store up Your commands within them so that their ears will forever turn to Your great wisdom, (Proverbs 2:1-2).
7. May your daughters keep themselves under control and not give full vent to people and situations that anger them (Proverbs 29:11).
8. Give your daughters the ability to rise above the traps of people pleasing, so they may be kept safe by trusting You, Father (Proverbs 29:25).
9. Father let your daughters walk in the security of Your assigned worth to them. Give them a strong work ethic and health to accomplish all their tasks. Give them a heart that desires to extend a hand to those in need. May they be women of joy and laughter whose Christ-centered character makes them beautiful. (Proverbs 31).
10. And Father God, every time You whisper, “Follow me”, may your daughters do so with great grace and in full obedience unto You forever and always (Matthew 4:19).

May your daughters be strengthened and rise as warriors to Your cause.

In Your name we pray…Amen

Prayers for our Children

Father, Thank You for the gifts that our children are to us. You said they are rewards from the Lord. (Psalms 127:3-4)

We receive them today as gifts that have come from the Father of Lights with Whom there is no variation, no shadow cast by His turning. (James 1:17)

We receive them as good, faithful gifts from You. We call our children, “disciples,” “taught of the Lord,” that are “obedient to God’s will”, “of great peace,” and “undisturbed composure.” (Isaiah 54:13)

I pray today that You would contend with those that contend with our children, and bring safety and ease to them. (Isaiah 49:25)

I thank You, Father God, that their hearts are in Your Hand as a watercourse, and You turn them wither so ever way that You will. (Proverbs 21:1)

I thank You that You have promised that we would never be pale with fear or disappointment over our children’s degeneracy, but they would walk in the ways of virtue and piety, and we would rejoice in the God that causes them to do so. (Isaiah 29:22-23)

Father, bring our children back from the land of the enemy. We refrain our eyes from weeping and from tears, for we know our labor and prayer will be rewarded, and they will come again. (Jeremiah 31:16)

You’ve promised us, Father, that if we train our children in the way that they should go, that even when they are old they will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Father, where we’ve had the ability to train them, or if we’ve raised our children without them knowing You, we thank You that it’s a new day, and a new time, and that You make all things new, and begin a work in our children that saves them from the destruction of the enemy. We call them from the north, the south, the east and the west. We say, “they return again from the land of the enemy,” and we thank You for Your hand upon our children. In Jesus’ Precious Name, Amen.

Ten Prayers to Strengthen Our Inner Man

Our highest call is to fellowship with God, the acronym F-E-L-L-O-W-S-H-I-P.  Which combines the three main prayer themes of gifts (power), fruit (character)  and wisdom (insight) for our inner man (mind, emotions and will), into one prayer list with 10 specific prayer requests.  “Truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ” (1 Jn. 1:3).  What happens in our inner man is what determines the quality of our fellowship with God and is the only thing that we bring from this life to the age to come. Our inner man is our most important aspect of life, yet usually the most neglected prayer focus.  These ten requests are based on God’s promises that require the work of the Spirit on our heart.

I recommend that each of you schedule prayer times and establish prayer lists to provide focus to your prayer time.  Most will pray ten times more with a schedule that establishes when they pray and a prayer list that focuses on what to pray. Many who love Jesus never develop a prayer life because they lack the practical aspects of scheduling prayer time and having a prayer list.

Ten Prayers To Receive Strength in the Inner Man:

F-E-L-L-O-W-S-H-I-P

“To be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man…” Ephesians 3:16

F- Fear of God:

Father, release the spirit of the fear of God into my heart. Release the lightning and thunder from Your Throne to strike my heart (Rev. 4:5) with Your majesty, that I might live in awe before You. Release Your presence and holy dread that makes me tremble before You. Unite my heart to your heart and Word and cause me to delight in the fear of God.

I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. (Jer. 32:40)

The Lord…you shall hallow; let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. (Isa. 8:13)

Unite my heart (to Your heart and Word) to fear Your name. (Ps. 86:11)

His delight is in the fear of the LORD… (Isa. 11:3)

E- Endurance (patience):

Father, strengthen my spirit with endurance that I may do Your will with zeal and diligence and that I not quit pursuing the deep things of God. Impart endurance for fasting. Direct my heart into the endurance in which Jesus walked. This is a prayer for strength to follow through in my commitments to God and to fulfill my ministry calling when it is difficult.

Being strengthened with all power…may have great endurance and patience… (Col. 1:11 NIV)

May the Lord direct your hearts into…the patience (endurance) of Christ. (2 Thess. 3:5)

It takes the power of God to not quit. If you do not quit in your fervent pursuit you win.

It was written, “Zeal for Thy house will consume me (Jesus).” (Jn. 2:17, NAS)

Zeal for Your house has eaten me (David) up… I wept and chastened my soul with fasting that became my reproach. I made sackcloth my garment… (Ps. 69:9-11)

Lord, give me Your zeal as You gave it to Phineas.

Phinehas…was zealous with My zeal among them… (Num. 25:11)

L- Love:

Father, pour out Your love into my heart by releasing the influences of the Spirit to give me revelation of Your love for me, that it may overflow in love back to You and to others.

The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit… (Rom. 5:5)

I pray, that your love may abound still more…in knowledge and all discernment. (Phil. 1:9)

May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God… (2 Thess. 3:5)

Set Me (Jesus) as a seal on your heart…for love is as strong as death…its flames are flames of fire… Many waters cannot quench love, nor can floods drown it.(Song 8:6-7)

Father, impart Your love for Jesus in my heart (Jn. 17:26).

I agree with Jesus’ prophecy(Mt. 22:37) to receive grace to love God with all my heart and soul and mind.

That the love with which You loved Me may be in them… (Jn. 17:26)

You shall love the Lord…with all your heart…soul…and mind. (Mt. 22:37)

Father, allow me to comprehend Jesus’ love for me and to abide in it (stay connect to it).

That you…may be able to comprehend…what is the width and length and depth and height… to know (experience) the love (affection) of Christ… (Eph. 3:18-19)

As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. (Jn. 15:9)

Let me see and love myself through Your eyes. Thank you for who I am to You.

You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.  My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought… (Ps. 139:13-15)

Father, “I agree with Jesus’ command and prophecy in Mt. 22:39 that I will love others.”

Let me abound in love by seeing what You see and feeling what You feel about others.

…You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Mt. 22:39)

May the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another… (1 Thes. 3:12)

L- Light of glory:

Father, let me see the light of Your glory or to encounter the “glory realm”.

Give me Holy Spirit encounters (dreams, visions, angelic visitations, manifestations of light, fire, wind) as You gave to Moses, Isaiah, Ezekiel and John (Ex. 33; 34:29-30; Isa. 6; Ezek. 1; Rev. 1).

A great light from heaven shone around me… He said to me, “I am Jesus of Nazareth…”

I could not see for the glory of that light…I came to Damascus. (Acts 22:6-11)

And he (Moses) said, “Please, show me Your glory.” (Ex. 33:18)

Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. (Ps. 4:6)

His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. (Rev. 1:16)

Send out Your light and truth! Let them lead me…bring me to Your holy hill… (Ps. 43:3)

Restore us, O God; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved! (Ps. 80:3)

You shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending… (Jn. 1:51)

I pray, open his eyes that he may see. Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man…the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:17)

O- One thing life focus:

Father, strengthen me to maintain a life in Your word with desire for it. When I lose this focus, send Your word to deliver me as You did for the saints at Ephesus, Sardis and Laodicea (Rev. 2:4-5; 3:1-3; 3:15-20). Alert me when I need to recommit my schedule and priorities to live as a person of one thing who regularly sits at Your feet, as Mary of Bethany did. Busyness, guilt and despair cause fervent believers to drift from their fervency.

But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part… (Lk. 10:42)

One thing I have desired…all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord. (Ps. 27:4)

I have set the Lord always before me…He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. (Ps. 16:8)

W- Count me worthy (faithfulness unto fullness):

Father, strengthen me to walk in a way that You would consider me worthy to walk in my highest calling and escape all compromise that I might stand before You victorious in full obedience.

We pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power… (2 Thess. 1:11)

Watch…and pray always that you may be counted worthy (prepared) to escape all these things (sins of v. 34)…to stand (in victory) before the Son of Man. (Luke 21:36)

No one is “worthy” to receive forgiveness, which is a free gift because of Jesus’ worthiness.

Rather, we are to have a worthy response to God by living free of compromise, thus prepared or worthy to walk in the fullness of our calling.

The opposite of having a worthy response is to waste or receive God’s grace in vain.

We…plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. (2 Cor. 6:1)

Help keep me free of compromise that I would walk blameless body, soul and spirit.

May the God of peace sanctify you completely; may your spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless (without compromise) at the coming of our Lord… (1 Thes. 5:23)

That He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before God… (1 Thes. 3:13)

We agree with David’s prayers to walk in purity.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit in me. (Ps. 51:10)

Your people…offer willingly to You.  O LORD…keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You.  And give my son Solomon a loyal heart to keep Your commandments… (1 Chr 29:17-19)

Save me, O God! The waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters…the floods overflow me. (Ps. 69:1-2)

We agree with David’s holy resolve to set nothing impure before his eyes.

I will set nothing wicked before my eyes… (Ps. 101:3)

I have made a covenant with my eyes; why should I look on a woman? (Job 31:1)

Lead me from the storm of temptation, rescue me from its deep waters, and cleanse me from secret faults

(Ps. 19:12; 69:1-2). Search me and show me my heart (Ps. 139:23).

Do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. (Mt. 6:13)

That You should keep them from the evil one. (Jn. 17:15)

Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret (unperceived) faults. (Ps. 19:12)

Search me, O God, and know (reveal) my heart; try me, and know my anxieties… (Ps. 139:23)

S- Speech:

Father, set a guard over my lips. Free me from defensive, angry and foolish speech (Eph.4:29; 5:4). Sustained communion with God requires restrained conversation with man.

If one does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body. (Jas. 3:2)

Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. (Ps. 141:3)

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable… (Ps. 19:14)

The Spirit is quenched in our life by unwholesome speech (filthy, foolish, coarse jesting).

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.  Do not grieve the Holy Spirit…

5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting… (Eph. 4:29-5:4)

I set my heart to not sin with my speech (Ps. 17:3; 39:1).

I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. (Ps. 17:3)

I said, “I will guard my ways, lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, while the wicked are before me.” (Ps 39:1)

H- Humility:

Jesus, I want to learn from You how to walk in lowliness. I commit to take Your yoke of humility (lowliness of heart) on my life in my attitudes, speech, and actions. Give me wisdom on how to carry my heart in humility.

Take My yoke…and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart… (Mt. 11:29)

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem, others better than himself… Let this mind be in you which was in Christ… (Phil. 2:3-5)

I- Insight unto intimacy (wisdom):

Father give me insight into Your Word, will, and ways. Give me wisdom on how to live before You that I may walk in intimacy (union) with You.

May He give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him … (Eph. 1:17)

Ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may have a walk worthy of the Lord… (Col. 1:9-10)

Father, “Give me insight that I may walk under the Spirit’s leadership that we may

partner together in every issue in my life including my finances, schedule, emotions,

circumstances, physical body (diet, health), relationships (in the home, office, ministry),

my future, fears, addictions, etc. Give me new ideas in each area of my life”.

The Holy Spirit…will teach you all things… (Jn. 14:26)

Father, I long to walk in the fullness of Your will in every area of my life.

Epaphras…always laboring fervently for you in prayers that you may stand perfect

and complete in all the will of God. (Col. 4:12)

Let me know the secrets of Your heart (Ps. 25:14). What are You thinking and feeling?

Show me Your ways…teach me Your paths.  Lead me in Your truth… The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him… (Ps. 25:4-5, 14)

We ask for the Spirit’s insight into God’s end-time purposes (Dan. 11:35; 12:10), eternity, the New Jerusalem, the judgment seat of Christ, and hell.

The Spirit…will guide you into all truth; He will tell you things to come. (Jn. 16:13)

O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand. (Dan. 9:22)

The anger of the LORD (end-time judgments) will not turn back until He has

executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In the latter days you will

understand it perfectly. (Jer. 23:20)

P- Peace and Joy:

Father, strengthen my heart with supernatural peace and joy that overpowers fear and anxiety that I would not sin. Sin grows fastest when fear or anxiety works strongly in us.

The peace of God…will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:7)

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound

in hope (confidence) by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 15:13)

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. (2 Thess. 3:16)

Establishing an Overall Prayer Life

Have you ever felt led to pray, but didn’t know exactly what to pray for?  Communion with God is a crucial part of your spiritual growth and intimacy with our creator.  Here are some helpful tips on establishing an overall prayer life.

Think of praying for topics in 3 categories:

  1. Prayer for my personal life: breakthrough of God’s glory (strength, favor, etc.) on my inner man, in my circumstances (physical, financial and relational) and through my ministry as God’s power is released through my hands, His authority through my words (singing, preaching, conversations) and prophetic revelation to help others (1 Cor. 14:25)
  2. Prayer for people and places: individuals, ministries, marketplace and governmental authorities, and the destiny of cities and nations (Israel, Egypt, President, etc.)
  3. Prayer for strategic social issues: justice (abortion, human trafficking), civil unrest (riots), natural disasters (hurricane, drought), disease (AIDS, Ebola), social crisis (famine, terrorism, genocide, etc.) or economic crisis, etc.

Think of prayer in 3 major themes:

  1. Gifts of the Spirit (God’s power/favor)
  2. Fruit of the Spirit (my character)
  3. Wisdom of the Spirit (insight, revelation)

Most prayer requests fit into one of these three themes.

A foundational Kingdom principle is that God releases more blessing as we ask Him. He knows all of our needs (Mt. 6:32), but requires that we ask Him for increased blessing, because it causes us to interact with His heart. To ask implies that we verbalize our prayers, not just think on them.

“You do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:2

“In everything by prayer…let your requests be made known to God…” Philippians 4:6
